I have a project that I've been working on for some time using Subclipse. Recently someone else
checked in a new directory "desktop". So I did an "Update to HEAD". Subclipse showed me that it had
updated, and the correct version number appeared next to the project. But the directory didn't appear,
either in Eclipse or on the filesystem.

I tried doing Team > Cleanup and then updating again, but nothing changed. I tried doing "Switch to
another Branch/Tag/Revision", switching to an earlier version, then updating again. The new directory
still didn't appear. I tried doing the same thing using the svn command-line client. Nothing.

I ended up deleting the project and checking out a new copy. Finally the new directory appeared. But I
would like to understand why this happened. It worries me that I can't rely on my version control
system to do something as basic as updating.

The project layout looks like this:
MyProject
    Web
desktop <<< this was the new directory, which never appeared
        JS
        Modules
        comm.html
        index.html
        ls_grids.html
        ls_test.html

I diffed the original (bad) project and the newer (good) projects. Both were updated to version 2103,
according to Subclipse. There were differences in the following files:
MyProject
    .svn
        all-wcprops
        entries
    Web
        .svn
            all-wcprops
            entries

I'm attaching the old and new copies of these files (with some names changed to protect the innocent).
Let me know if there's anything else I can provide. Also please let me know if you think this problem
was caused by Subversion itself, or by me.

I'm using Eclipse 3.5, Subclipse 1.6.5 with the CollabNet Merge Client, on a Mac OS 10.6 machine. The
server is Subversion 1.6.1, on a Linux machine.
