If you add the location before importing the project it should work.

Nothing has changed in this area in years. I'd be surprised if 1.0.x
release does not have this. I am sure that 1.2.x does.

Message Thank you Mark,

it worked for me when I did a new checkout from eclipse, after overwriting the root url. But its still no solution if the repository was checked out with another tool before. Then it does not overwrite the root url.

With older versions of subclipse this was working fine. It gives much more troubles like it is now and I cannot see a reason why it should fail if you do not have access to read the root. It did not in the past... what is the advantage now, why does it need to read the root?!

Message The behavior is intentional as we have a lot of operations where we
will use the repository root URL as the operative path. We do allow
you to override the repository root URL once a repository location is
added. You probably need to use the SVN Repositories view to manually
add your location and use the URL to the part of the repository you
can access. You may still get an error when trying to add this
repository as it tries to check the root. But you should still be
able to add it. You can then right-click on the location you added
and then override the root URL.

Message Ok, but this seems to be a bug, right?

It should be possible to use a folder where you have rights if you do not have rights for the root....

Will threre be a fix or is there a workaround?

Thanks,
Mathis

[Subclipse-users] Share Project does not work

Message Hi, I just updated to subclipse 1.6, after upgrading tortoisesvn to 1.6. I checked out a project using tortoisesvn and then tried to use it in eclipse using "Share Project". That used to work fine before, but now it shows an error message:

org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: RA layer request failed
svn: Server sent unexpected return value (403 Forbidden) in response to OPTIONS request for 'https://svn.xxx.com/repos/svn'

as if it would try to select the "root" of the subversion server directory, where I do not have success. The project I want to share is in a subfolder. The path to the subfolder is also displayed correctly on the screen with the "finish" button.

So it knows the right path, but somehow tries to access the root and fails because of missing authorisation...

Has anybody an idea whats going wrong?

Thanks,
Mathis
