Message Is there a clean way of disabling the issue tracking dialog for all users of a site wide Eclipse/plugins installation ?

I have no issue with usage tracking as such but our systems have no connection to the internet and never will, so the dialogs are simply not relevant and are just a hinderance.

Thanks in advance

We had the same issue and we found the following solution. The reporting
tool is still installed but with this, you get rid of this popup.

Just comment or remove the line
"org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.tools.usage,1.0.1,plugins/org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.tools.usage..."
in file
%ECLIPSE_HOME%\configuration\org.eclipse.equinox.simpleconfigurator\bundles.info

Restart Eclipse and no popup apears anymore. Don't know how it will work
with the next versions of subclipse...?

Hope this helps for short...

Why? There is nothing confidential in the information. Just basic
stuff like the OS, Java version and Eclipse version.

We currently build using Java 1.4 and support the Eclipse 3.2 API.
This places a burden on development process and based on information
already gathered, I think we could consider moving the bar forward on
these requirements. But the more data we gather the better informed
we will be in making those decisions.

It is a plugin included in the main Subclipse feature. So I believe
you would have to customize the feature to not include that plugin if
you do not want to install it.

I believe the decision you supply when prompted is stored in a
preference. So if you could initialize the preference you could
probably avoid being asked (users could still change the preference
though). Not sure how you could automate that though.

Message Regarding the new usage reporting tool: http://subclipse.tigris.org/usage.html

My company manages Subclipse for all developers. Currently, when Subclipse is installed, every time a new workspace is opened the popup appears asking the user if it is okay to collect usage information.

However, we want to prevent this popup from being displayed -- we do not even want our users to be given the option to send usage information.

How can we prevent the usage reporting tool from even being installed? (Or at least disabled by default?)
Thanks!!!
